Despite the ongoing legal dispute with members of the girl group NewJeans, the ADOR label continues to take action against people who post harmful content about the group online.
“We are actively pursuing legal measures against those who maliciously defame NewJeans members through slurs, sexual harassment, and the use of derogatory language,” ADOR said in a press release Friday.
“Following our previous legal actions, sanctions are now being imposed in various criminal cases related to the defamation of NewJeans.”
The company revealed that violators found to have distributed and sold altered pornographic images of members will be subject to a multimillion-dollar fine, as imposed by the Supreme Court of South Korea.
“We are taking a tough stance against violations of artists’ rights under our zero-tolerance policy,” ADOR said.
“We will exhaust all means to gather relevant evidence and hold those accountable through legal procedures, no matter how long it takes.”
NewJeans members announced the unilateral termination of the contract with ADOR, a subsidiary of HYBE, in a press conference on November 28.
In response, the label filed a legal motion on December 3, seeking confirmation that its exclusive contracts with members are still valid.
The members currently promote themselves under their individual names, forgoing the group name “NewJeans” and opening social media accounts under the new name “Jeanz”.
