‘Panchiko’ Kim Min-ha Reveals Neighbor Who Inspired Her Career Is Actor Seol Kyung-gu

Early life and beginning of career

Kim Min-ha joined the show’s host, Heo Young-man, to explore restaurants in Seobuk-gu, Cheonan. During the trip, Kim shared, “I was born in Seoul but lived in Bundang before returning to Seoul during high school. Now I live with my parents and I intend to stay with them as long as possible.”

When Heo noticed her freckles, he asked her if they were drawn. Kim replied: “No, they’re real. People ask me this often. I could hide them, but I kept them because I don’t see why I should hide them.

Revolutionary role in Pachinko

Kim gained international recognition through Apple TV Pachinko. Reflecting on her audition, she said: “When I first got the call to audition, I thought it was a scam. But as soon as I read the script, I cried: it was based on real life events.”

Her grandmother, however, was initially hesitant about her accepting the role. “I often asked her about her experiences since the character Sunja’s age and circumstances were similar to hers. “He gave tailored guidance that built trust and consulted with me often. I relied on him a lot and he made me feel very cared for.”
