EXO’s “The First Snow” continues to trend across various online platforms and secure spots on music charts as South Koreans welcome the winter season. Dance challenges and song covers are also pouring into social media, with people enjoying the 2013 Christmas tune while having fun in the snow. But Eris didn’t expect a big twist: former EXO member Luhan was streaming the song!
On the morning of November 29, Luhan held a live stream on Douyin (Chinese TikTok) to communicate with his fans. In the middle of his broadcast, he dropped some comments about SM Entertainment and its founder Lee Soo Man.
“Can I play it? I don’t care about SM anymore anyway. Lee Soo Man left, so I’ll play it since it’s snowing in Beijing too.”
Then, he started playing “The First Snow” and even vibed. What also surprised EXO-L was the fact that he played the Korean version!
“The First Snow” is a sub-track from EXO’s winter album “Miracles in December”, released in 2013 in both Korean and Chinese. Luhan was still a member when the EP was released.
For years, the song has become a staple for Koreans whenever the first snow falls, and it continues to resurface on the charts thanks to its heavier streams as Christmas approaches.
But watching former EXO member Luhan stream “The First Snow” is a breath of fresh air and evokes a sense of nostalgia among EXO-L, who called themselves the Exotics.
While Luhan, who is now one of the top soloists in China after his departure from EXO in 2014, performed “The First Snow” in a live stream, EXO-L is now hoping for more “crumbs” from him and the current members .
