On November 28, NewJeans held an urgent press conference in Seoul to address the decision to terminate its exclusive contract with ADOR.
According to several insiders, NewJeans informed them of its intention to publicly declare its position through a press conference. Although some attempted to dissuade members, the group’s determination to speak openly and confidently prevailed.
The planning of the press conference was conducted in the secrecy of a covert operation. The members’ requests were simple: 5 chairs to sit on and absolute confidentiality on the part of ADOR.
As a result, on the morning of the 28th, staff members rushed to find a suitable location. After numerous complications, the venue was finalized in the late afternoon and news of the press conference was released only three hours before it began.
This indicates the strength of NewJeans’ determination to proceed with the decision to separate.
In the press conference, NewJeans stated that their exclusive contract with ADOR would be terminated effective midnight on November 29th.
According to Minji, the women’s group submitted a request to ADOR to rectify the violations of our contract, but the responses they received were simply formal and insincere, and none of their requests were met.
Ultimately, NewJeans grew tired of ADOR’s lack of genuine commitment, which led them to seek a legal injunction to suspend the contract. At the same time, they express their desire to continue working with Min Hee-jin.
