Netizens sparked backlash over Yeonjun’s AI-generated video at the 2024 MAMA Awards.

The second day of the highly anticipated MAMA Awards 2024 was held on November 22 at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan. The event’s star-studded lineup also included fourth-generation boy group TXT, who made MOA proud with their their victories and impressed them with their energetic performances.

However, during the event, the awards show played a VCR of Yeonjun’s opening, shown in a surreal setting.

The VCR, which introduced the concept of the “Big Blur” that blurs the line between fantasy and reality, also included a caption acknowledging the use of artificial intelligence.

According to the caption, the VCR contained AI-generated music and other aspects of content. “All the music and some of this video were made by artificial intelligence,” he said.

The use of artificial intelligence in the music industry has been controversial among fans, as its use raises ethical questions regarding originality and artistry. The video not only showed AI-generated movements in the clip, but also claimed to instill AI into the background music.

Fans were outraged by the revelation, with many of them directing their anger towards HYBE.

In other news, TXT won the awards for Ponta Pass Global Favorite Artist and Fans’ Choice at the 2024 MAMA Awards.
