On November 15, Yulhee removed all references to Choi Minhwan from her channel, “Yulhee’s House”, including recordings of her private life. This comes after Yulhee previously revealed her visits to adult venues.
She previously shared the reasons for their divorce, including marital strife, prostitution charges and giving up custody and alimony. Yulhee initially hoped to take the children with her, but ultimately was left alone due to practical problems.
Four days ago, he asked for a change of custody and an agreement on alimony and property division, sparking speculation that Yulhee is completely severing ties with his past.
In a recent video, Yulhee shared: “I haven’t abandoned my children, but I wondered if they might think so. I could have gotten over it, but I wondered if I was too narrow-minded. I wondered if I should accept the situation as a mother. I don’t regret choosing divorce.”
He also stressed “I have not lived shamefully as a mother, and I will not in the future. I want to live proudly as a mother to my children. I have not ignored the children’s feelings and I want to face them with dignity as their mother.”
The divorce lawyer handling the case, Yang So-young, expressed confidence, saying in a personal broadcast: “From what I’ve heard, it seems like the original agreement was that Choi Minhwan would be the long-term primary caretaker, but there was discussion about Yulhee taking the kids early. I think he has a strong chance of winning.”
Choi Minhwan recently sold his property in Gangnam, Seoul, for about 3.8 billion won, making a profit of 2.5 billion won. He had purchased the house for 1.25 billion won in 2015 and built a two-story multi-family house, which appeared in “The Return of Superman” and “Mr. Domestic husband.”
This sale sparked public outrage, especially after Yulhee revealed that during their divorce, Choi Minhwan had only offered her 50 million won for alimony and 2 million won for child support. Yulhee had given up custody and alimony for the sake of her children, which led to further backlash given her significant real estate profit.
