Wonder Girls’ Hyerim will soon sing “Sweet Dreams” to a new family member.

The former idol and her husband, taekwondo athlete Shin Min Chul, welcomed their second child, Deng Kong, into the world.

Hyerim made the announcement on December 12, a day after giving birth, with a post on her Instagram.

“December 11th. Our baby Deng Kong was born yesterday!!” he wrote.

“Thank you for coming to mom and dad! Deng Kong!! I still can’t believe I’m a mom of two.”

The delighted mum revealed she had been “worried” about her pregnancy for months, thanking her son and the medical staff for arriving safely and carrying out the operation well.

“Let’s have fun together! Welcome to the world, darling!” he said.

“Thank you so much to everyone who cheered us on. Both thanks to Kong and I are fine. We love you so much already!! Thank you so much for coming to our family. Praise God!”

Hyerim debuted in Wonder Girls in 2010, which disbanded in 2017, and married Taekwondo athlete Shin Min Chul in July 2020. The couple welcomed their first child, Shin Si-woo, in 2022.
