Despite the recent controversy and uproar on social media over alleged negligence in his military duties, WINNER’s Song Min Ho appears to have lost his job, once again.
The idol, who is currently assigned duties as a public service employee, has reportedly gone missing from his workplace.
According to News about the stars report, Song did not show up for work on December 18 at the Mapo Resident Convenience Facility located in Seoul.
The facility confirmed that Song Min Ho had taken sick leave for personal reasons on December 18. The idol was classified as a grade 4 supplementary service worker following a military physical examination.
The facility reported that the designation allowed him to serve in alternative military service instead of active duty, and that the idol received treatment for panic and bipolar disorders.
“Given that the person responsible is currently under investigation due to the controversy surrounding Song Min Ho’s poor service performance, there is nothing we can say at this time,” a representative from Mapo Resident Convenience Facility told News about the stars.
YG Entertainment, Song’s agency, released an official statement, explaining that the absence was authorized.
“The reason for his sick leave is the continuation of the treatment he had received before service,” they said.
“Furthermore, all of his vacation and leave days were used in accordance with regulations.”
The agency had previously addressed allegations regarding his attendance record, denying allegations of attendance manipulation and maintaining that the idol had complied with appropriate protocol.
