Song Mino of the WINNER is currently under police investigation. The update also comes following allegations of a violation of the Military Service Law as a public service employee during alternative military service.
Song Mino was booked after allegations of violating the Military Service Law
December 26th Seoul Mapo Police confirmed that they had officially charged Song Mino on December 23 for suspected violations of the Military Service Law. The investigation was also started at the request of the Author Military Manpower Administration (MMA)which conducted an internal review and determined that certain aspects of its service required further examination.
An MMA official stated: “We have requested a police investigation into Song Mino for violating the Military Service Law. After conducting an internal review, we have identified issues that require confirmation by the police.”
Police are also evaluating details provided by the MMA to determine whether Song Mino actually neglected his assigned duties. If the allegations prove true, Song Mino’s discharge on December 23 could also be revoked. Additionally, he may be required to serve additional time to compensate for the time in question.

The controversy first arose after Dispatch reported on December 17 that Song Mino had failed to adequately fulfill his responsibilities as a public service employee. Although Song Mino has not yet been summoned for questioning, the ongoing investigation has also attracted considerable public attention.
