Where is Jung Jinhyeong Now? Former YG Trainee Who Had Rumors of Relationship with (G)I-DLE Miyeon

Miyeon rose to fame as (G)I-DLE after leaving YG. But what happened to Jung Jinhyeong, her alleged ex-boyfriend?

On September 22, soloist Jung Jinhyeong gained attention after announcing his marriage to Japanese model and actress Mayu Kitazawa. On Instagram, the couple revealed the news by uploading their pre-wedding photos and both received warm congratulations from K-pop fans and netizens.

Jinhyeong, aka JEY, first came to prominence in the music scene as a former YG Entertainment trainee. He joined the survival program “Mix & Match,” the same show that created iKON.

After failing to make it into the final lineup, he made his solo debut with SFR Ent in 2017 and is now under the ALFHA label, which he founded in 2022.

Following JEY’s wedding announcement, rumors of his previous relationship have resurfaced, with him once dating (G)I-DLE Miyeon.

Before joining the Cube girl group, Miyeon was preparing to debut as a member of BLACKPINK. While it was said that she was naturally cut from the final team, speculation persisted that she was caught in a relationship during YG’s dating ban.

In 2015, a year before BLACKPINK launched, photos of Miyeon and Jung Jinhyeong were taken and circulated online. Eyewitnesses claimed that they were dating and had traveled together to Japan when she was 18. Despite widespread suspicions, the matter was never addressed by the label or the artists.

In any case, their leaving YG worked out for both Miyeon and Jinhyeong: the female idol became a major K-pop star through (G)I-DLE and JEY met his life partner while establishing himself in the K-hip-hop field.
