A real-life K-Drama love story!
In the last episode of John Maat YouTube of the channel’s “BYOB” series, beloved soloist Ailee invited to tell all about his engagement Singles Hell star and businessman Choi Si Hoon (also known as Choi Si Hun).
In May 2024, two months after the news of Ailee’s engagement, it was confirmed that Choi Si Hoon was her fiancé.

Brian: When did you first meet?
Ailee: We met through a friend.
Brian: So it wasn’t a blind date?
Ailee: No, it wasn’t. We weren’t even interested in each other at the time. We were just hanging out. But the more I talked to him, the more I got to know him better… I realized what a good person he was. As we started talking, we both realized at the same time, like, “Oh, shoot. I think I’ll marry him.” And she knew it.
Brian: Even before you guys dated?
Ailee: Yes. Even before we dated. And he felt the same way too. He says, “Oh, shit. I think I will get married to this girl.
Joon ParK: Wow.
Ailee: Yes, we both had that feeling. So I decided to get to know him a little better.
Ailee bragged about her future husband, mentioning how sweet and supportive he was.

Ailee also revealed that their first date was at Dio’s concert in 2023, where the two shared their slow-motion K-Drama moment that made things “official!”
Joon Park: And guess where their first date was?
Brian: Where was their first date? At a divine concert?!
Joon Park: Yo, let’s get it! Last year!
Ailee: It was during the concert that we became a couple. He didn’t “ask me out” or anything. It was a little cold and I had his jacket on my lap. We were enjoying the music and, like, I put my hands inside my jacket. And in a certain sense we touched each other. Our hands were touching and… I didn’t move. Then, while everyone was dancing and singing together, my face was red.
Joon Park: It’s like a movie!
Ailee: We were in our own little world. It was like slow motion.
