“What if no one was looking for BLACKPINK anymore”

“What if no one was looking for BLACKPINK anymore”

In a show, Rosé revealed for the first time that she had a viral infection during COVID-19, amid concerns about BLACKPINK losing their fame.

On December 5, the “APT” hitmaker appeared as a guest on BIGBANG Daesung’s YouTube web show, “Zip Daesung.” Here, he looked back on his agony and stress during his early years as an idol.

When the entertainment scene was hit by lockdown in 2019, Rosé worried about losing her job. As she continued to think too much about BLACKPINK’s future, she fell ill with shingles in the middle of the pandemic.

Daesung, surprised, exclaimed, “It’s hard to even hear the jingles, but did you get shingles? Wow, that must have been so painful!”

Rosé then detailed how she contracted the viral rash, concluding that overall it was due to stress.

“(At the time), I thought, ‘What if no one was after BLACKPINK anymore?’” she said, “At the time, we were trying to go higher. But I was so worried that no one would want us. I thought What else could I do?”

Rosé, who has an MBTI of ENFP, is quite imaginative, so she initially thought: “Since I was 16, I’ve been training to be a singer. But at my age. I could be out of work.”

Thanks to this mindset, Rosé also revealed that she dedicated her whole heart to working tirelessly after her debut, convincing herself that it was the right thing to do as a person with a mature attitude.

However, after experiencing a mental breakdown, the singer finally realized the importance of taking a break. Rosé recalled the comfort she felt after visiting the beach for the first time in a while to watch the sunset, as well as eating freely at a popular restaurant.

Rosé continued, “The next day, I found myself paying attention to all the things I couldn’t do before.”
