WayV Yangyang Earns Backlash for “Copying” TXT Yeonjun? WayZenNies debunks the allegations

Ahead of WayV’s long-awaited return, Yangyang earned a lot of hate after his teaser images shared similarities with TXT Yeonjun’s.

WayV, the Chinese subunit of NCT, confirmed the release of their sixth mini-album “Frequency” on November 25 with the title track of the same name.

Before its release, the pre-release single “High Five” will be unveiled on the 19th. Unfortunately, Winwin will have to forgo this comeback due to a conflict in his filming schedule for a drama in China.

Despite this, the remaining five members (originally seven) continued to tease the album by releasing their respective image teasers. So far, two photo sets have been revealed starting from the 13th, WayV unleashes their deviant and dark charm.

While WayZenNies (fandom) celebrated the teaser drop, Yangyang attracted attention as his photos were the only ones with hateful comments, other K-pop fandoms especially mentioned TXT Yeonjun.

Apparently, MOA (TXT fans) recognized the similarity of Yangyang’s photos to Yeonjun’s concept photos from his solo mixtape, “GGUM,” first released in September.

From their poses to having sneakers and chewing gum as the main element, Yeonjun’s supporters were truly offended as the mixtape is close to the male idol and fans’ hearts, recalling the time and effort he put into complete it.

But as the matter escalated, WayZenNies countered by saying that Yangyang shouldn’t be blamed here, especially for the pose since it has been one of her signature gestures since her debut.

Regarding the rubber concept, the fandom then criticized MOA for making a big deal out of it, when other NCT subunits such as NCT Dream and 127 had used this element even before member TXT. They implied that no one owns the theme as it is common in the K-pop world.

WayV fans went on to say that if they want to blame anyone, they will target SM Entertainment who is in charge of planning the group’s concept and teasers.
