The festival was a perfect mix of high-energy performances, intimate moments and communal joy, with a lineup that kept everyone on the edge of their seats throughout both days.
DAY ONE
The first day was full of electrifying performances that set the tone for the weekend. The DJs at Waterbomb Singapore 2024 played a vital role in keeping the energy levels soaring, seamlessly intertwining their sets with the K-pop lineups. Each DJ set was strategically placed before or after key performances, enhancing the overall experience and keeping the momentum going.
DJ Raw and Nicole Chen on the first day, for example, set the stage for the bigger shows, getting the crowd excited just in time for the next wave of music and aquatic fun.
On day two, Jade Rasif was outstanding, with her set serving as a high-octane bridge between performances. Each session of ‘Waterbomb Time’, set to the beats of the DJs, was an exhilarating interlude that transformed the festival into a veritable water battle, amplifying the excitement and ensuring the audience remained fully immersed in the fun.
As the afternoon progressed, the energy changed as Kwon Eunbi, living up to her title as the “Queen of Waterbomb,” delivered a powerful performance that had everyone spellbound. His performance of “Underwater” was a perfect fit for the event and the audience responded with cheers and applause, showing how much they appreciated his presence.
The excitement continued to grow as VIVIZ followed energetic performances of “Mania” and “Untie.” The trio’s choreography and stage presence were undeniable and left a lasting impression on the audience.
Sandara Park brought a wave of nostalgia with her 2NE1 medley, sending hardcore Blackjacks into a frenzy. Her performance was extraordinary, not only for the music but also for the connection she maintained with the audience, who were clearly thrilled to see her live.
As the evening progressed, Jessi took the stage and delivered not just a performance but a meaningful message. His set was a blend of hits like “Zoom,” “Nunu Nana,” and of course, blunt yet heartfelt advice, urging everyone to take care of their health and be a positive influence in the lives of others. Jessi’s words, combined with her fierce stage presence, resonated deeply with the audience.
Rain, one of Day 1’s headliners, brought his legendary status to the stage with an unforgettable performance of “Rainism.” His blend of smooth vocals and intricate dance moves proved why he remains a global superstar.
The night closed with jaw-dropping performances from Jay Park, who invited Singaporean rapper Shigga Shay to make a special appearance, lighting up the stage with their dynamic collaboration. It was the perfect way to end Day 1, leaving the audience buzzing with excitement as their minds lingered on Jay Park’s amazingly toned body and unforgettable charisma.
SECOND DAY
Day two kept the energy high, starting with Gemstarr and Haven setting the stage for another day of music and water fighting. The audience witnessed performances by artists such as SORN, who surprised everyone with a special appearance, and Team Bebe, the dance group from “Street Woman Fighter 2”.
Their performance of Bada’s hit “Smoke” and K-pop hits like Kiss of Life’s “Sticky” was a feast for the eyes, showcasing their incredible dance skills.
Chung Ha enchanted the audience with powerful performances of hits such as “Gotta Go”, showcasing his talent and stage presence with near-perfect live singing accompanied by intense choreography. Fans were left baffled by how she managed to sing those notes so flawlessly while keeping up with her dance routine.
BamBam was another highlight, captivating the audience with his solo tracks “Sweet and Sour” and a powerful rendition of GOT7’s “Hard Carry.” As an entertainer, BamBam playfully teased the audience, asking them to put their phones aside and enjoy the moment, creating an atmosphere of pure fun.
Bibi then took to the stage, effortlessly mixing sweet and sexy vibes with her coy and sultry performances of “Binu,” “Vengeance,” and “Bam Yang Gang.” His set was a masterclass in balancing duality, leaving the audience spellbound.
Loco was another standout on Day 2, turning his set into an impromptu sing-along session with the crowd for his hit “Say Yes.” The spontaneous connection he established with the audience was one of the most memorable moments of the festival.
And just when everyone thought the festival couldn’t get any better, CL took to the stage for a solo performance that was nothing short of iconic. As one of the most influential figures in K-pop, CL’s set was a fitting end to an incredible weekend, leaving the audience speechless.
From the music to the water fights, the festival was sensory overload in the best way possible. The atmosphere was electrifying, with booths offering free samples, mini-games in exchange for vouchers, and cold Carlsberg beers keeping everyone refreshed. The beach clothes were gorgeous, the vibes were immaculate and at the end of each day everyone was soaked and completely immersed in the Waterbomb experience. As the final notes faded and the water guns were finally put down, one thing was clear: This was a weekend no one would soon forget.
