Former EXO member and Chinese idol Luhan has become the central figure in a major controversy that has rocked China’s entertainment industry after influencer Tu Xiaodi (online alias iamroosie) made explosive claims during a late-night livestream on January 3.
During the broadcast, Tu Xiaodi said that she has had relationships with numerous male celebrities over the past decade. However, public attention quickly narrowed to Luhan after he uploaded a photo of the private bedroom allegedly showing the singer sleeping.
According to Tu Xiaodi, the photo was taken when Luhan was drunk and fell asleep at her house. He said the image was kept “as a souvenir” and stressed that there had been no sexual relationship between them.
The photo immediately sparked widespread speculation. Netizens began poring over details such as clothing, tattoos and interior furnishings, claiming they corresponded to items Luhan had previously shared publicly. As a result, many online users dismissed claims that the image was generated by artificial intelligence, further fueling the controversy.

In response, Luhan Studio released two official statements in the early hours of January 3, firmly denying the rumors and announcing immediate legal action.
According to the study:
- Lawyers were authorized to collect and preserve evidence relating to defamatory content
- Legal proceedings have officially begun against individuals and platforms that spread false information
- Any continued falsification, speculation or rumor spreading will result in full legal liability under Chinese law
The studio stressed that it will pursue accountability without compromise, warning netizens against participating in the spread of rumors or personal speculation.

The incident has been labeled by netizens as the first major C-biz “earthquake” of 2026, with Luhan’s name dominating online discussions. While some users say they are disappointed, others call for moderation, stressing that unverified allegations should not be treated as fact, especially in the context of ongoing legal action.
Several entertainment commentators have also noted that China’s defamation laws are increasingly strict and that online speculation involving the private lives of celebrities can bring serious consequences.
