Chris Wong, the girlfriend of veteran Hong Kong actor Lee Lung Kei, recently became the subject of controversy after reports suggested she may already have a husband and son in mainland China, following her legal troubles in Hong Kong.
According to HK01, Chris Wong, previously introduced as Lee Lung Kei’s girlfriend, was recently photographed by paparazzi while having dinner in Foshan. The dinner reportedly included his mother, son and a man in his 40s. Sources say the man, surnamed Chen, is Chris Wong’s husband. The two are said to have married in 2007, have never divorced and have a son who is now around 16 years old.
The same sources claim that after returning to mainland China, Chris Wong cut off contact with Lee Lung Kei. The couple reportedly did not have intercourse for several months. For now, Chris Wong has not publicly responded to the allegations.
Previously, in a media interview in November, Lee Lung Kei said that his girlfriend was busy managing the family’s business, which explained why they rarely saw each other. He insisted at the time that the two would soon officially register their marriage.
Lee Lung Kei has since returned to Hong Kong to resume work and has noticeably stopped mentioning his relationship with Chris Wong, despite once saying he would marry her soon after his release from prison. Recently, he was seen attending events and appearing close to a younger actress. When asked about rumors of a new romance, he denied them.
Lee Lung Kei is a well-known Hong Kong artist who previously signed with ATV and TVB. He began his career singing theme songs for television dramas before becoming a freelance singer and actor. He once revealed that during his prime in the 1980s, he lived extravagantly, owning numerous luxury cars such as Porsches and BMWs and even a private plane. His filmography includes notable works such as A Step into the Past, Journey to the West, The Great Pretenders, Witness for the Prosecution and The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber. He was previously married to a wife nearly 30 years his junior, with whom he has three children, and the couple divorced several years ago. She met Chris Wong in 2018, after which the two became inseparable, often appearing together at events, publicly dating and announcing wedding plans. However, before the wedding could take place, Chris found himself embroiled in legal issues.
Chris Wong was arrested in February last year. Investigators found that he had used counterfeit U.S. university diplomas when he applied to enter Hong Kong under a preferential immigration program. During a court hearing on 19 June 2024, she was sentenced to 25 months in prison for seven offences, including using false documents, providing false information to gain entry to Hong Kong and expiring her visa. She pleaded guilty and accepted the sentence. During his imprisonment, Lee Lung Kei visited her often and publicly expressed his intention to propose after his release. However, in July, after serving her sentence, Chris Wong returned to mainland China.
