Recently, TWICE’s Tzuyu debuted as a solo artist with the track “Run Away” and has been actively promoting the song on Korean music programs.
Her performances, especially the one on “Inkigayo”, however, are drawing criticism, as netizens complain that the female idol has “no stage presence” despite being in the K-pop industry for 10 years.
“I love Tzuyu, but she really has no stage presence. She looks scared”, “Almost 10 years in the industry and still no stage presence”, “Her stage presence is so non-existent that if she wasn’t dressed differently I wouldn’t even be able to tell her apart from the dancers” – comments like these can be found everywhere in the comments section of Tzuyu’s stage.
Furthermore, some even compare TWICE members to IZ*ONE recruits and former member Hyewon, leaving comments like “Beginners are better” AND “I didn’t know Hyewon had a daughter.”
However, some netizens have sided with Tzuyu by sharing videos of past performances in which the female idol shows off a stronger stage presence. A thread collecting these videos on the SNS X platform (formerly Twitter) has even reached over 190,000 views and over 4,000 likes.
