The friendship between TWICE Tzuyu, Elkie and (G)I-DLE Shuhua often delights fans. However, this time, some raised eyebrows after kissing on the lips, accusing them of queerbaiting.
On November 7, former CLC Elkie took to SNS to share that she celebrated her 26th birthday with her closest friends Tzuyu and Shuhua.
In one photo, her fellow Chinese K-pop idols drew attention by kissing Elkie on the cheeks, but what really caught fans’ attention was when the Hong Kong-born idol also unveiled a clip in which the three kissed on the lips, then laughing with each other afterwards.
When this clip circulated online, their three fandoms went into a frenzy, celebrating the friendship of these women.
In addition to this, some gender minority allies have rejoiced, seeing how same-sex K-pop idols are now slowly showing intimacy, which may open up opportunities for other idols to show their true sexuality once the public in general he accepts it more.
However, some have raised their eyebrows at the three, particularly Tzuyu, as some have accused the TWICE members of “queerbaiting,” a term that describes straight idols who appeal to the LQBTQ+ community without explicitly describing them.

Just recently, Nayeon and Sana also kissed on stage, setting the K-pop scene abuzz. Since then, there have been fans who look forward to this type of fanservice.
Others doubt whether it is still just fanservice or queerbaiting, due to its frequency.
With these accusations, ONCE (TWICE fandom) are quick to defend the group and insist that the members are indeed affectionate with each other and even the friends they are close to. Furthermore, they are still real humans, who can kiss whoever they want, so the accusation is forced hatred.
