Exceptional singer Kim Ho Joong was sentenced to 2 years and six months in prison following the drunk driving incident.
In the first sentencing trial held on November 13 KST, Judge Choi Min Hye of the Seoul Central District Court sentenced Kim Ho Joong to two years and six months in prison for violating the Road and Traffic Law by driving while intoxicated and fleeing the crime scene.
Kim Ho Joong crashed into the victim’s taxi while driving under the influence of alcohol, causing physical and material damage. He irresponsibly fled the crime scene and forced his manager and other individuals to turn themselves in to the police in his place.
This caused confusion in the initial investigation and significant amounts of police resources were wasted.
Kim Ho Joong made matters worse by initially denying the crime, giving excuses that were difficult for us to accept despite evidence on CCTV clearly showing him staggering while drunk.
