He also mentioned how, in the United States, many celebrities openly discuss their mental health struggles, appointing Dwayne Johnson, Lady Gaga and Emma Thompson as examples.

Moved from the topic, Tony An, who was present as Panelist, shared his personal experience: “I crossed a really difficult moment in the late 1920s. I was strongly depended on alcohol and drugs, to the point where I thought about death every day.”

Reflecting on the reasons behind his depression, he added, “Looking back, I think it was due to constant comparisons. As social media grew, I found myself wondering why so many people had more successful or better than me. That obsession with success made me feel unhappy.”

When asked if he had moments of extreme thoughts, Tony replied honestly: “I lived on a high floor and I often looked down with dark thoughts. I even kept a knife once.”

He concluded with a reassured vision: “There have been many dangerous moments. But I realized that it derived from comparing myself obsessively with others and doing too hard to be successful.”

In the meantime, “No way I’m an adult” Go aired every Tuesday at 20:20 KST on TVN Story.
