Tiffany Young displayed her trademark poise and wit as she answered indirect questions about her relationship with actor Byun Yo Han during a recent press event for the upcoming SBS program Veiled Cup.
The presentation of the production for Veiled Cup was held on January 9 at SBS headquarters in Mok-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul. Tiffany Young attended the event as one of the judges, attracting attention not only for her role on the show but also for her recent personal news.
During the press conference, Tiffany Young was asked what kind of encouragement she had received from “precious people around her”, an indirect reference to his publicly acknowledged relationship with Byun Yo Han, whom he is dating with marriage in mind.
Smiling warmly, Tiffany replied, “Thank you for your interest. The people who support me have been very generous with their encouragement. They trust me, believe in me and say they can’t wait to do it.” Then he added with lighthearted charm, “I hope journalists also show a lot of love for ‘*Veiled Cup,’”* eliciting laughter from the audience.
Tiffany Young officially confirmed her relationship with Byun Yo Han on December 13, stating that the two are in a serious relationship and that marriage is a shared intention. While subsequent reports suggested a wedding planned for this fall, Tiffany made that clear during the event “no specific program has been finalized yet” choosing to speak cautiously about future plans.
The pair famously grew closer while working together on the Disney+ series Uncle Samsikreleased in 2024. Because the drama was filmed between March and August 2023, many interpret the relationship as having developed more than a year or two before the couple began discussing marriage.
The moment their relationship became public, Tiffany Young personally addressed fans through a handwritten letter, writing: “I’m currently in a serious relationship with someone I plan to marry. He’s someone who helps me see the world with a positive, hopeful perspective and gives me a sense of stability.” He also stressed that any major decisions in the future will be shared directly with fans first, expressing sincere gratitude for their long-standing support.
In the meantime, Veiled Cup marks an expanded version of Veiled musiciana vocal competition showcasing the best singers from across Asia. The program brings together representatives from South Korea, China, Japan, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Mongolia, Laos and others, as the top 3 singers from each country compete in Korea to claim the title of Asia’s best singer.
The Korean lineup has seen before “Jeongdong-myeon steel voice” take first place, followed by “Gamil-dong cotton candy” AND “Suyeong-dong thirty-one” among the top 3. Veiled Cup is scheduled to premiere on January 11 at 4:30 PM KST.
