NewJeans, currently in conflict with its label ADOR, recently launched its new Instagram account @jeanzforfree under the name Jeans.
Since announcing the termination of their contract with the company, the five members – Hanni, Haerin, Minji, Danielle, Hyein – have been updating their status using the new account and promoting their brand and magazine deals signed without ADOR.
However, their original SNS is still updating on NewJeans, leaving some fans confused and curious about the nature of the artists and the label’s deals.
On December 18, sublabel HYBE released their official statement regarding this concern and denied that the quintet had consulted them before opening the account.
“NewJeans (already) has a dedicated platform and official SNS accounts, such as Instagram and X (Twitter), to communicate with fans, and we hope that NewJeans members will continue to communicate with fans through these official channels as before,” the label said. .
“In addition to the official NewJeans accounts launched by ADOR, all (jeanzforfree) accounts were opened without prior consultation under the exclusive contract.”

ADOR warned the team of the possible legal problems they may face, especially since they have received complaints from advertisers.
“There are actually inquiries and complaints from third parties, such as advertisers, regarding the accounts and content posting. We have communicated our concerns to the artists and their legal representatives because separate entertainment activities through the accounts could cause legal problems “, added the spokesperson. agency.
Currently, the lawsuit against NewJeans filed by ADOR to confirm the validity of its exclusive contract is still before the Seoul Central District Court. The label insisted that NewJeans cannot terminate their contracts without mutual agreement.
But since then, NewJeans have continued with their programs independently by omitting the team name in the introduction and instead promoting using their real names.
