The YouTuber who slandered Jang Wonyoung has also been charged with repeated defamation

On September 3, the Criminal Division 1 of the Incheon District Prosecutor’s Office (led by Chief Prosecutor Yoo Jung-ho) announced that YouTuber A (a 35-year-old woman) was further charged with defamation and insult under the Information and Communications Network Act.

A is accused of posting videos on her YouTube channel, often known as “Sojang,” between July 2022 and January last year, in which she insulted the appearance of two female members of an idol group.

In August 2022, he also allegedly posted a fake video about a male idol group’s fan management practices, damaging the group’s reputation and interfering with the agency’s operations.

However, the idols involved in this further case are not affiliated with IVE.

Previously, A was first charged in May with defamation after posting slanderous videos targeting Jang Wonyoung and six other celebrities or public figures between October 2021 and June last year.

Jang won the young

An analysis of the YouTube channel’s account revealed that A has earned approximately KRW 250 million (approximately $188,000) in two years as of June 2021.

A was found to have produced and distributed fake videos claiming, for example, that Jang Wonyoung sabotaged a fellow trainee’s debut out of jealousy and that other celebrities were involved in prostitution or had undergone plastic surgery.
