It’s not for the reasons you might think.
Veteran singer LYn recently appeared in a YouTube video and spoke openly about his regrets regarding the controversy surrounding his marriage.
In 2014, LYn got married to her best friend of decades and MC, the best singer Lee Soo. The announcement then sparked a heated backlash, as Lee Soo was suspended on three charges of soliciting online prostitution from a middle school student during his alternative military service in 2009.
When criticism came, LYn defended her husband, even though he admitted to the prostitution charges. In 2019, when a netizen brought out Lee Soo’s past in a viral post, the singer got into a heated exchange online, claiming that not all the allegations against him were real.
I’m not asking you to forget and forgive (my husband’s past). The prostitution episode is true, but there are many false facts mixed in.

In the video, the singer talked about her career, mentioning that after marriage she became more determined to avoid sad songs or breakup songs. “I’m fine, but when I sing, people sometimes create their own dramas and watch them through my songs,” he added, hinting that his songs could end up fueling speculation about his personal life.
She then mentioned the duets album she released with her husband last October. “It’s been 10 years for us and we’re doing so well, and we put out this music. I wanted to prove it,” he said, explaining the motivation behind releasing the album FRIENDLY+n.

LYn also addressed the fact that things in her career became much more difficult after her marriage, as the public and media often took her words out of context. This affected her self-expression, but she went against all advice to stay away from social media.
Her stubbornness, LYn admitted, had a big impact on her husband, putting him in an awkward position. Seeing him feel so sorry towards her, LYn said that she also realized that the situation could have been avoided if she had “I simply remained still.“
I just wanted to call false what was false, but looking back on it now, I think I wanted to fight… I don’t think it was helpful.

Although Lee Soo failed to return to the music industry following his indictment, LYn continues to enjoy a prolific career, especially as a K-Drama OST singer. Some of his more recent OSTs include “One and Only” by The king’s affection and “Open Your Heart” from Forecast of love and weather.
