The two Thai passengers aboard the fatal Jeju Air flight

Rest in peace.

On December 29, Jeju Air Flight 2216 crashed while landing at Muan International Airport. Of the 181 passengers and crew on board, 179 died in the accident.

Of the people on board, only two were non-Korean – Jongluk Doungmanee (45 years old) e Sirithon Chau (22 years old). Both passengers were Thai and died in the accident.

According to the Thai ambassador to South Korea, Tanee SangratJongluk Doungmanee went to South Korea for work about seven years ago. After marrying a Korean husband, she settled in Naju, working in the agricultural sector.

Earlier this month, Jongluk Doungmanee and her husband visited Thailand. While her husband returned to South Korea on the 14th, Jongluk Doungmanee boarded the doomed flight on the 29th.

Sirithon Chaue was a fourth-year student at Bangkok University specializing in airline business management. She was only a few months away from graduating and she dreamed of becoming a flight attendant. She boarded the fateful flight to visit her mother, who lives in South Korea.
