Fandoms of two K-Pop groups sued Mnet for alleged “manipulation” of awards during the MAMA Awards 2024‘second day.
Both groups were nominated in the Fans’ Choice categories, formerly known as Worldwide Fans’ Choice. It was announced that this category will be decided entirely by fan votes, with 90% of the vote on the Mnet Plus app and 10% coming from the SNS vote.
Furthermore, it was announced that live voting will be taken into account in the voting.

This year the category was divided into male and female groups, and fans monitored it closely before the show.
However, in the women’s category, fans were shocked ITZY did not win the “Fans’ Choice Award”.
Many fans shared evidence of ITZY’s placing in the voting before the show, proving that the group was in the top ten of the category. Many thought the group had been robbed of the victory and, in disbelief, they would come so close to the show.
It’s crazy. Almost all the groups in the Top 10 of the female FANS’ CHOICE category received their awards, but ITZY was replaced. MAMA and MNET are nothing but clowns.

The second group that netizens believe was robbed was ENHYPEN.
ENHYPEN received the “Fans’ Choice Award”, however, it was believed that the group would secure the “Global Icon of the Year” as the most voted in the category.
Evidence shared by fans shows that the group was ahead in all categories included for voting. The award is also said to include the voting results for the “Fans’ Choice” category + 10% based on live voting (90% Mnet Plus app + 10% SNS + 10% live voting).
