A science fiction film with a human touch, beyond gender constraints
“Mickey 17” tells Mickey’s unpredictable story, a sacrificable employee assigned to dangerous tasks that is reprinted every time he dies. Although I share the same aspect, Mickey 17 and Mickey 18 show very different personalities and Robert Pattinson skillfully portrays the nuances between the two with distinct vocal tones, movements and facial expressions. Naomi Ackie’s Nasha stands out as a capable and fearless character, even performing action sequences that highlight his strong presence. Steven Yeun Comic relief Porta, while Mark Ruffalo makes a surprising transformation in his first bad role. Collette tones further improves the intensity and depth of the film. This diversified and talented ensemble breathes fresh life in science fiction genre, developing a story full of compelling characters and dynamic performances.
The unexpected journey of the hero
The third culminating point is in the underlying message “Mickey 17”. Unlike traditional clones representations, this film introduces the concept of “human press”, in which people are reproduced as sheets of paper.
