Actress Kim Sae Ron was recently spotted on a movie set, marking her return to acting nearly two and a half years after being involved in a highly publicized drunk driving accident.
The actress was seen filming in Seoul’s Jongno neighborhood at Tapgol Park, wearing a long white dress and maintaining a positive attitude while filming. The project he is participating in is a low budget musical film directed by Shin Jae TOknown for his work on films such as Love, so divine, AND The Punisher.
The sighting marks Kim Sae Ron’s first appearance in a professional setting since the May 2022 accident, where he crashed into a guardrail, roadside trees and a transformer while driving while intoxicated. The incident caused a temporary power outage in the area, causing inconvenience to nearby businesses and residents. When police arrived, he refused a breathalyzer test and instead opted for a blood test, which revealed a blood alcohol level high enough to warrant revocation of his driver’s license. She was later fined ₩20.0 million KRW (approximately $14,600 USD) for the offense.
Despite this, Kim’s return to the industry has sparked mixed reactions. While some in the entertainment industry are moving forward cautiously with its return, others remain critical. A representative for the film he is working on confirmed his involvement but declined to share further details about his role, reporting that the production is being handled discreetly.
