ZEROBASEONE shared a post via X (formerly Twitter) after the ceremony. Many ZEROSE (fans) reacted with congratulations.
Still others couldn’t help but poke fun at the group, noting that the group had included a tone indicator in their post.
every time I see you with a trophy in your hand I fall to the ground and cry (positive)

A tone indicator (also known as a tone tag) is not uncommon on the Internet, but it is not the norm for it to be used by celebrities’ official social media accounts. Its purpose is to explicitly communicate the intent or mood of a phrase that could be misinterpreted. In the case of ZEROBASEONE, they used the phrase “it’s hard on my heart”, which might sound negative, so “positive” was added at the end.
While some netizens were surprised to see the group’s official account using a tone marker, others were aware that tone markers had become a meme or slang in Korea.
It’s a Korean meme/text thing. You will see many fans writing things like 미친놈 (positive), crazy (positive), to say that their prejudices worked very well

I learned about this meme from a short film I saw on YT. The creator taught me this, after commenting thinking that they had written it to assure interfans of its positive tone. (There was a time when some fans took the translations at face value without understanding the tone used.)

is a Korean slang. sserafim also used “michin (positive)” for their crazy comeback

Member of ZEROBASEONE Gyuvin he often uses tone indicators when messaging fans, which is why some ZEROSEs suspect he wrote this caption.
it’s actually pretty common 😭😭 gyuvin does it plus he chats a lot thanks to the meme
