In particular, fans and sources of international news shared their opinion on the matter.
Many have presented various opinions: some believe that as British speakers are aware of the language they are using in the covers and should have known it better. Others, however, argue that as adolescents under the great pressure of their company at the debut, they were simply doing as they were told.
More recently, Netizen Koreans have become aware of videos through viral posts. Many shared that hatred was unfounded since videos were not an official version, nor members wrote the texts.
- “So only blacks are authorized to sing songs with the word n in them? It is not as if Blackpink has written the texts themselves. People are only looking for a reason to hate.”
- “They are getting a lot of backlash abroad for this, Lol.”
- “If you intend to criticize people for singing together, then why are they also making the song first? Are the songs not destined to be sung? …”
- “Is Jennie criticized unnecessarily again?”
- “It was a cover video filmed before their debut, not something that YG has officially published: it was leaked. Is it really right to criticize them for this? Lol …”
YG Entertainment did not face videos.
