On December 26th, Lee Jung Jae will return as Gi Hun (Player 456) to lead an all-star cast in the next round of deadly games. Squid game 2 features a colorful cast of new characters to both root for and despise, but one isn’t like the others.
Netflix has slowly released promotional materials, such as teaser photos and trailers, to build hype Squid gamethe sequel. One of the characters present, No Eul (Gyu Young Park), some viewers have already brainstormed fan theories.
In Netflix’s new “Meet the Cast” video, Park Gyu Young introduced No Eul as a former North Korean soldier and defector, who had to leave her child in North Korea. His only goal is to reunite with his son.
Unlike most of the cast members interviewed, Park Gyu Young was not shown wearing the green tracksuit worn by the players.
In fact, No Eul wasn’t wearing a uniform at all in the video…
…or in the stills Netflix previously released.
If No Eul isn’t a player, then who is she? What is his role? Considering his military background, it’s possible that No Eul will end up becoming a guard. Last season, the guards were given no major roles or backstories, but if No Eul is indeed a guard, viewers may find out more about the inner workings of the game.
Park Gyu Young’s character remains a mystery even though he is part of the main cast. My guess is that she is the new black square guard or will play guard. What do you think?

Another option? No Eul could be an ally of Wi Ha Joonhis character Jun Hoa police officer who infiltrated the game in the first season to search for his missing brother, Front Man.
