The post claimed sarcastically, “Newjeans is taking antidepressants – seriously, you should never mix it with alcohol”, “ and was combined with an image of the members who held drinks during a Nike event during their break.
The post was apparently written in response to the third hearing of the Court between Ador and NewjeansDuring which Newjeans’ lawyer revealed that some members suffered from mental health problems serious enough to require antidepressant drugs.
Despite the sensitive nature of the topic, the comments under the post showed little sympathy. Instead of criticisms, most of the reactions seemed to support the mockery or were indifferent, without a significant repercussions or an effort to correct the narrative. Some have even brought it beyond attacking the group and its management.
