Earlier this year, amid the announcement of many survival shows, JTBC she joined the fray, announcing her plan to build a girl group.
Titled Girls on firepresented the survival show Jang Do Yeon as MC, with other stars, included Day6‘S The young K AND Gaekoas judges. Along with their debut, the program’s winners were promised a prize of ₩200 million KRW (approximately $138,000 USD), an album release, a nationwide concert tour, and a global showcase.
The members of the group were all chosen based on their vocal abilities and are aged between 19 and 30.
Despite the anticipation for the group, many were disappointed when six months passed without any updates on the group’s debut. Winner Lira addressed these concerns in the video that circulated online, revealing that they were just as in the dark as fans.

Unfortunately, a recent update left many disappointed.
On December 22, Yang Irae shared a video on TikTok, first thanking fans for their support and love throughout her time in the competition and after. He then revealed that the Girls on fire group that everyone hoped would not debut.
He went on to say that he had written his own music and would not give up on his dreams.
Those waiting anxiously expressed their disappointment with the situation, wishing members well and expressing anger at the company.
