The last film of the late Kim Sae Ron will be released in theaters: the youth novel “We Were Everyday” confirms the premiere

The last work of the late actress Kim Sae Ron will soon meet the audience.

The teen romance film We Were Everyday, starring Kim Sae Ron and Lee Chae Min, has officially confirmed its theatrical release for February 2026. The film is based on a popular webtoon of the same name that has amassed over 16 million views on KakaoPage.

We Were Everyday tells the story of first love and emotional confusion between two seventeen-year-olds on the brink of adulthood. The narrative begins when Ho Soo (Lee Chae Min) suddenly confesses his feelings for – and kisses – his childhood friend Yeo Wool (Kim Sae Ron) shortly before they enter high school.

Shocked by the unexpected confession, Yeo Wool reacts angrily, and the longtime friendship ends abruptly. Fate, however, brings them together the day they enter high school, when they discover that they attend the same school and the same class.

With their friendship already fractured, the two teenagers navigate awkward days filled with emotional distance, lingering feelings, and growing confusion. Set at the age when friendship has ended but love has just begun, the film delicately portrays the vulnerability and turbulence of early romance.

The project draws particular attention as Kim Sae Ron’s last on-screen appearance following his passing earlier this year. It also marks the screen debut and first leading role of Lee Chae Min, who has recently become a new romance star through works like The Tyrant’s Chef.

The film is expected to showcase Kim Sae Ron’s signature bright charm and emotional depth, along with Lee Chae Min’s fresh and touching performance. Supporting cast members include former Cherry Bullet Choi member Yu Ju and Ryu Eui Hyun, known for attracting Gen Z audiences through dramas such as A-Teen.

The newly released teaser poster depicts Ho Soo and Yeo Wool standing together under a single umbrella as the rain falls softly, capturing the tender and fleeting emotions of youth. The image of Kim Sae Ron smiling once again has already aroused deep emotion among fans.

As audiences prepare to say goodbye through We Were Everyday, the film should serve as a touching farewell, preserving Kim Sae Ron’s youthful presence and talent on screen for the last time.
