The ex-wife filed a complaint with the police for “habitual aggression” by the comedian towards her.
Comic Kim Byung Man (also known as Kim Byoung Man) has denied all allegations of domestic violence after his ex-wife claimed he beat her during their marriage.
On November 12, 2024 (KST), Kim’s ex-wife informed a Korean media outlet that she had filed a police report for Kim “habitual aggression” of her and that the case was referred to the prosecutor in July 2024. She claimed that she had been beaten and that her daughter, born during her marriage to her previous ex-husband, witnessed the beating on four occasions.
Following the ex-wife’s claims, Kim’s management shared: “The claim that Kim Byung Man assaulted his ex-wife is not true.” Kim’s management made it clear that the ex-wife has filed a lawsuit “avoid paying the amount established by the court” to divide their assets in the divorce process.
Kim’s ex-wife filed a lawsuit under false accusation to avoid paying the amount set by the court for the division of assets in the event of a divorce. The case has already been sent to the Prosecutor’s Office with a recommendation of non-prosecution by the police, and no assault was recognized in the Supreme Court ruling.

Kim registered his marriage to his ex-wife, a non-celebrity woman 7 years his senior, in 2011. The two separated in November 2023, after living apart for a decade. It was on Channel A‘S Friends Documentary: Table for Four that Kim revealed, “I was afraid to reveal the divorce because I was afraid that letting go would bring down everything I’ve built since debut.”
