So Ji-sub, one of South Korea’s most beloved actors, is known for his reserved and secretive nature, especially when it comes to social media. However, it recently came to light that there is a person he follows exclusively on Instagram, a gesture that says a lot about the bond between the two.
The person in question is actor Song Seung-heon, a fellow actor who has been a close friend of So Ji-sub for years.
In a past radio interview, So Ji-sub was asked why he only follows Song Seung-heon on Instagram. His answer was simple but sincere, “I haven’t been on social media for long, and Seung-heon hyung debuted with me, so he’s a precious person to me.”
Then Ji-sub joked, “I don’t think I’ll follow anyone else” before sharing that Song Seung-heon didn’t reciprocate by following him. “He hasn’t accepted me yet and isn’t following anyone” Then Ji-sub laughed, revealing a playful dynamic between the two.
Their friendship is known in the entertainment world. Song Seung-heon, in a previous interview, spoke about So Ji-sub’s approach to social media. He said, “He’s a deep person, but he’s blunt and doesn’t express much, so I didn’t think he would come together, but he did because he had to keep up with the times.”
Song Seung-heon continued, “Ji-sub has been like a little brother to me since we debuted together,” showing how much they rely on each other. He added, “He’s happily married now and I’m envious of how well he’s doing.”
In a recent appearance on the variety show “You Quiz on the Block,” Song Seung-heon talked about his experiences in the industry. Reflecting on his twenties, he shared, “Acting wasn’t fun for me back then. Acting was simply my job, a way to make money. I thought, “If I can endure today, the attendance fee will come,” and I would buy some delicious food with that.
He went on to say that although his job was exhausting, he would feel good once filming was over. “I should have enjoyed it more, but at that moment I just saw it as a job and I didn’t feel enthusiastic. He was just like, ‘You’re the one who has to do this.'” His honest reflection offers a glimpse into the difficulties many actors face behind the scenes.
Despite their different paths in the entertainment industry, the two have remained close over the years and their bond is something many fans admire.
