Previously, Nana’s legal representative had also filed a notice of absence. Although their absence has not been officially finalized, the court postponed the second hearing—originally requested by the defendant— within two weeks to March 24.

However, as both Nana and her mother submitted further statements reiterating their position, it has become clear that they do not wish to face the accused in court on the upcoming date either.

The suspect, identified as A, was arrested and charged after allegedly breaking into Nana’s residence in Guri, Gyeonggi Province, at around 6 am on November 15, 2025. He is accused of threatening Nana and her mother with a weapon in an attempt to extort money.

Nana and her mother reportedly stopped the intruder after a physical confrontation and alerted the police. Investigations revealed that the suspect had targeted the affluent residential area due to worsening financial difficulties.

While in custody, the suspect filed a counter-affidavit against Nana, accusing her of attempted murder. However, the police rejected the complaint, believing that his actions were justified self-defense.

During the first trial held on January 20, the accused appeared in custody and partially admitted having entered the house using a ladder, but denied any intention to commit a robbery. He claimed he entered for theft after noticing an open balcony window.

The suspect also claimed he was unaware the residence belonged to Nana and insisted he was not armed when he entered. He further claimed that he was the one who was resisted during the confrontation, claiming that Nana suddenly attacked him with a weapon.

His statements were reportedly inconsistent, as he alternated between denying the physical assault and claiming he was trying to calm the situation. He also denied strangling Nana’s mother, saying he had only grabbed her shoulder.

In response, the judge questioned his claims, asking whether anyone would remain passive if a stranger broke into their home at dawn. The defendant eventually conceded the point.

Meanwhile, Nana’s agency, Sublime, released an official statement highlighting this Nana and her mother were victims of a serious crime involving an armed intruder. The agency stressed that the case was consistently investigated and prosecuted as robbery with injury based on clear evidence and testimony.

The agency also criticized the suspect for showing no remorse, filing a counter-complaint and repeatedly changing his statements by spreading false claims. They described his actions as secondary victimization, particularly exploiting Nana’s public status.

Regarding the rejected counter-complaint, the agency confirmed that the police concluded that there was no wrongdoing on Nana’s part. They added that legal action has already been initiated against the suspect for false accusations and promised to pursue all possible civil and criminal measures.

Nana also recently spoke about the incident during a YouTube appearance, recalling the terrifying moment. She said: “*It all seemed chaotic, but I was very lucky. It felt like a split-second situation where every second counted.*” She stressed that she acted instinctively to protect her mother, adding that she had no previous martial arts training despite rumors to the contrary.
