On the December 6th episode of Music Bank, many groups participated in the weekly music show and performed their recent comebacks. The two candidates for the episode were TWS with their song “The Last Festival” and NCT subunit WayV with the Korean version of “Frequency”.
Each of the men’s groups has already achieved their first win, with WayV having the most wins with this return. TWS has earned wins since their debut and added three more during their latest comeback cycle.
TWS and WayV each had voting sections in which they performed best, with the Please group that scored highest in all but one voting category. Despite this, WayV’s higher ratings and higher percentage of fan votes helped the group secure the victory.
The group, with leaders, did not seem to expect it When AND Xiaojun falling to his knees immediately after the announcement. The group was all smiles as Ten began their speeches, thanking the fans and their team for the victory.
Although WayV already won their first music show and had others, they were on MTV The showwhich is broadcast on a subscription channel. Music Bank, M!Countdown, InkigayoAND Musical core they are all broadcast on public television and are consequently considered by some to be “harder” to win.
This occasion not only marks WayV’s first public music show win, but also a historic first in all public music shows by being the first group with all non-Korean members to win! Fans congratulated the group for making history!
