It all started when Beomhan faced a backlash of questionable “jokes” following the results of the US presidential election. Beomhan quickly apologized after taking heat for the now-viral clip. However, as netizens continued to criticize him and resurface past controversies and false accusations, the former K-Pop trainee became defensive and soon lashed out on social media with both rants on X (formerly Twitter) and live broadcasts on Instagram, heavily laced with vulgarity.
Clips from his two Instagram Live broadcasts went viral, as Beomhan continuously cursed at those who kept leaving him hateful comments. This included accidentally repeating the “R slur,” which a netizen directed at him to protect him. His behavior during live broadcasts alarmed netizens as he publicly shouted and used vulgar language. Many suspected he was using drugs and was “collapsing”, even though he claimed to be sober.

Some loyal fans defended Beomhan, but his behavior discouraged many. Beomhan also apologized again.
In a recent statement, Beomhan said he would “come back soon” and seek professional help, which he did.
Due to the controversy, the Beomhan event was cancelled. Beomhan was previously scheduled to have its first event in Tennessee on November 16 and 17, while taking over PLOGHVEY K-POP in Knoxville.
Beomhan is already facing the consequences of his actions. Just a couple of days before the event, PLOGHVEY Group announced that it had been cancelled. Ticket holders will be refunded.

Beomhan apologized once again, acknowledging that he had handled everything badly, but clarified that he never threatened self-harm.
