According to reports on March 28, Hollywood stars Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, stars of the film The Devil Wears Prada 2 directed by David Frankel, will appear on the popular tvN variety show You Quiz on the Block.
The production team behind The Devil Wears Prada 2 has confirmed a global promotional tour ahead of the film’s release on April 29. Seoul is included among major cities such as Tokyo, Shanghai, London and Mexico City. The stars are expected to arrive in Korea in early April to carry out various promotional activities.
This will mark Meryl Streep’s first ever visit to Korea to meet fans. Meanwhile, Anne Hathaway previously visited the country in 2018 as a brand ambassador, making this her return after eight years and the first time she has promoted a film there.
As part of their promotional schedule, the two actresses will appear on You Quiz on the Block, where they are expected to share a special meeting with Yoo Jae-suk, often nicknamed “Nation’s MC”. Anticipation is high for the interaction between the global stars and the beloved Korean host.
Meanwhile, The Devil Wears Prada 2 is a sequel released nearly 20 years after the original The Devil Wears Prada, which grossed over $326 million at the box office worldwide.
In addition to Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci also appear in the sequel. However, only Streep and Hathaway are expected to participate in the Korean promotions.
The film follows the story of Miranda, the legendary editor-in-chief of a fashion magazine played by Meryl Streep, and Andrea, played by Anne Hathaway, who returns as a planning editor after 20 years.
