Netflix‘S Culinary class wars has quickly become one of the most popular Korean reality shows currently airing, catapulting many of its participants into the limelight, chef Jung Ji Sun being one of them.
Jung recently appeared on KBS Fresh FMthe radio program hosted by Park Myung Soo and spoke in detail about how the show influenced his career. After appearing on Culinary class warsChef Jung says she is highly recognized by customers and that the number of foreigners visiting her Hongdae restaurant has increased significantly.
While his restaurant’s visibility and sales were undoubtedly increased, the compensation Jung received for appearing on the show would have been unexpected to many. Chef Jung addressed the topic by saying, “Many people were curious about the compensation for participating in ‘Culinary Class Wars’. It was just at the basic level.”
Park Myung Soo inquired about the precise number, asking if it was between 1 million and 2 million. Jung shockingly revealed that he was even shorter. He added that the participants never discussed their respective fees during filming.
While the appearance fee may have been disappointing compared to the show’s current popularity, its reach has helped Chef Jung’s business immensely, with bookings tripling. He also shared his plans to expand to a new location!
