Director Lee Hae-Young explained, “We wanted to faithfully recreate the atmosphere of Chungmuro at that moment keeping it related to modern spectators.” The series goes beyond a simple historical recreation, underlining the survival and solidarity of women in an exploited industry dominated by men.

The production has an impressive range of creative talents.
The director of CHOI SE-YEON costumes highlights the differences in character through clothes: Hee -ran wears an extravagant design fashion, while the Ju-ae wardrobe evolves with his ascent as a beginner to Star.
The set designer Jung Yi-Jin has recreated iconic places such as Cheongmaek Cafe, film offices, sets and theaters, symbolizing the film scene of the time.
