The 2024 SBS Drama Awards, which took place at the SBS Prism Tower in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul on December 21, were filled with heartfelt confessions from the actresses.
Receiving Best Supporting Actress in a Genre/Action Miniseries, actress Jung Yoo-min shared: “This has been a very special year for me. I completed filming ‘Connection,’ then I got married and now I’m here with a baby in my body,” prompting loud applause with her sudden pregnancy announcement on the live broadcast. He continued, “The child came to me as a blessing. I gave the baby the name Taeyang because I want him to be surrounded by happy people who are always full of love, and to grow up to become one of them. I wish the public and viewers all the best.”
Lee Ha-nee, who received the Top Excellence Award for Actress in a Seasonal Drama for her performance in “The Fiery Priest 2,” expressed deep affection as a mother raising a daughter during her acceptance speech. The actress said: “Since I now have someone I love more than myself, I’m still practicing lowering my self-esteem. While I continued acting, I started analyzing who I was after 30, which made me become more selfish. As an actress, this is like a turning point to open a new chapter in my career.” He continued, “I will do my best to become a better actress, a better person and a better mother. I want to thank Ari for growing up so well during the time mom was busy working. Also, thank you, my husband Peter. Thanks to mom and dad for raising me and my fans well.”
Director’s Award winner Park Shin-hye, the best actress recognized by drama directors, confessed: “For the first time, I want to take this opportunity to thank Choi Tae-joon”arousing keen attention by mentioning her husband. The actress added: “Thank you so much for always giving me strength, for saying ‘you’re fine’ to me who has lower self-esteem than I thought.”
Finally, Daesang winner Jang Na-ra drew admiration by indirectly mentioning her husband, camera director Jung Ha-cheol, “I got married on SBS.” With overwhelming emotions that made her shed tears, the actress shared, “I love my husband Jung Ha-cheol so much. He loves me and all my sides.”
