Entertainment Astronavi recently broadcast the first episode of The debut planTheir survival reality show to launch their next Boy group. Among the judges they are Wjsn‘S Yeonjungand famous K-Pop choreographers Choi Young Joon AND We dem boyz‘S Inkyu.
Choi Young Joon is considered a legend in the sector, after having choreographed Produce 101, SEVENTEEN, Monsta XAnd more. Being around for a long time, he commented what he thought was the k-pop defect right now.
According to him, trainees and idols in these days are all perfectly skilled and mounted in shape. However, they can’t have a connection with the public and that thing is missing.
Inkyu: “Children certainly have nothing for us to whom Nitpick, but they are not touching my heart.”
Choi Young Joon: “It is actually a defect in the current sector. They are missing something. It is a flaw because it is all so boring, above all because now there is an equalization of quality.”
With K-Pop that becomes more popular globally and the system becomes more refined, the average skills of the trainees have definitely increased. But with this comes the price of the idols that falter on being the factory scraps without the stellar factor that everyone is looking for.
