Wang Xing, who traveled to Thailand for an alleged film project, found himself in a heartbreaking experience that involved confinement and coercion.
According to reports, Wang was deceived in believing he had obtained a role in a film, pushing his journey to Thailand. Upon arrival, it was confined to a building together with about 50 Chinese citizens, all subjected to forced activities. Wang said that during his imprisonment, he and others were forced to participate in the beating exercises, raising suspicions of involvement in telecommunications fraud operations.
The actor’s ordeal ended after 78 hours when the Myanmar authorities localized him and saved him near the Mekong river, near the border between Myanmar-Tailandia. Following his rescue, Wang was transported to Bangkok, where he expressed gratitude to the Thai government and the immigration office for having ensured his safe return. He stressed that Thailand remains a relatively safe country and expressed opening up to the return in the future.
