The 2024 MelOn Music Awards finally announced the winners of its top 10 artists, but fans were frustrated that the awards show excluded Taeyeon despite her being a strong nominee.
On November 15, the 2024 MelOn Music Awards revealed the top 10 winners, drawn from the results of voting conducted from October 31 to November 15. The artists included in the list were determined based on downloads and streams (80%) and user votes (20%).
According to the results, the winners were K-pop artists aespa, DAY6, (G)I-DLE, IU, BTS Jungkook, NewJeans, PLAVE, RIIZE, SEVENTEEN and TWS. However, the list eventually caused a stir among Taeyeon’s fans.
On November 14, netizens gathered in an online thread, titled “Singers Confirmed to Win Top 10 at Melon Music Awards.”
