T-ara’s Soyeon Misses Eunjung’s Wedding After Missing Hyomin’s: Fans Question Her Absence Despite Being in Korea

Soyeon, a former member of K-pop girl group T-ara, is facing increasing scrutiny from fans after missing the weddings of two group members: Hyomin in April and, most recently, Eunjung on November 30. What raises eyebrows is not just his absence, but the fact that he was reportedly in South Korea just days before the ceremony.

Eunjung got married to director Kim Byung-woo in a private wedding attended by several Tare members, including Qri, Jiyeon, and even former member Hwayoung. However, Soyeon was noticeably absent, again.

According to media reports and Soyeon’s social media posts, she was in Seoul on November 18 to watch her husband Cho Yu-min, a professional football player and national team defender, compete in the South Korea vs. Ghana match at the Seoul World Cup Stadium. He also shared photos from the stands supporting him.

Yet, at the time of Eunjung’s wedding, not only was Soyeon no longer in Korea, but she hadn’t even posted anything related to the wedding on her Instagram: no photos, no congratulatory messages.

This marks the second time this year that Soyeon has lost a Tare member’s marriage. In April she was also absent Hyomindespite his long-standing friendship with the group.

Soyeon currently lives in Dubai with Cho Yu-min, who moved to Sharjah FC in the United Arab Emirates in 2023. The couple, who legally married in 2022 after dating for three years, have no children. With Cho’s move reportedly carrying a fee of KRW 1.5 billion ($1.15 million) and a salary now estimated at KRW 2 billion a year, the couple has moved to Dubai, where Soyeon often travels in line with her husband’s soccer schedule.

While no official statement has been released regarding his absence, fans and netizens have expressed mixed reactions online. Some speculate about tense group dynamics, while others argue that personal commitments and international travel could have been valid reasons.

AS Tare members continue to celebrate major milestones in their personal lives, fans are left wondering whether Soyeon’s repeated absences signal deeper rifts — or simply the growing pains of adulthood and divergent paths.
