The divorce is now “Instagram official.”
After dodging rumor after rumor for months, this has all been confirmed T-NOW member Jiyeon and baseball star Hwang Jae Gyun they asked for a divorce. After the news broke, Jiyeon asked for mercy in a short statement shared alongside her divorce lawyer’s statement.
Hi, I’m Jiyeon. First of all, I want to express my apologies for giving you such unfortunate news. [Hwang Jae Gyun and I] we mutually agreed to undergo mediation proceedings for our divorce. I ask for your understanding for not addressing this issue sooner. I will try to greet you with better news in the future. Thank you.

Hwang Jae Gyun also admitted to the divorce, citing “personality differences” as the reason for their split. He added that both he and Jiyeon agreed to continue supporting each other moving forward.
Jiyeon and I decided to divorce after much consideration due to personality differences. We have already submitted an application for divorce mediation to the Seoul Family Court and intend to conclude the process amicably.
Even though our relationship as a couple is over, we will continue to support each other moving forward. I sincerely apologize to our fans for any disappointment this may have caused.

Jiyeon then became fond of her Instagram and deleted all traces of her ex-husband from her feed, amid a wave of comments sending her love and support.
