T-ARA Jiyeon and baseball star Hwang Jae Gyun sparked chaos on the Internet after announcing their divorce on October 5. Subsequently, the actress-idol will make her first official appearance.
Jiyeon and Hwang Jae Gyun married in December 2022, but confirmed their divorce less than two years later.
In a statement released the same day, Jiyeon’s legal representative, lawyer Choi Yuna of Taesung Law Firm, said: “The two parties were unable to overcome their differences, so they parted ways and agreed to divorce. They have filed a request for divorce mediation at the Seoul Family Court to proceed with the process.”
“We strongly ask that you refrain from making speculative comments,” the lawyer added.

In the midst of her divorce, Jiyeon will make her first public appearance to meet T-ARA fans.
The second generation girl group will celebrate its 15th anniversary through a fan meeting in Macao.
The event will be held at the Broadway Theater on October 7 at 5pm, with current members Jiyeon, Qri, Eunjung and Hyomin gracing the stage with their much-anticipated performances of their hits over the years.

Rumors about Jiyeon and Hwang Jae Gyun’s alleged rocky marriage began in June this year after broadcaster Lee Gwang Gil told KNN’s baseball commentary team, “Did you know that Hwang Jae Gyun got divorced?”
The team was surprised, but he was quick to add, “We’ll talk about it later.”
However, Jiyeon’s former agency representative denied the claim and said that the divorce rumors are “not true.”
Meanwhile, around the same time, the idol-actress announced that she would be taking some time away from her YouTube channel, which she regularly updated with vlogs before going on hiatus.
