Early life and background
Sung Han-bin was born in Cheonan, South Korea in 2001. He has a younger sister who is a member of the national sport climbing team. Growing up, Han-bin developed a passion for street dancing, training in styles such as waacking and tutting since middle school. Before his idol debut, he trained at Cube Entertainment and obtained his bartending license while working at his mother’s bar. Han-bin studied K-pop performance at the Dong-ah Institute of Media and Arts, where he met other trainees.
Career
Han-bin began his career as a backup dancer, performing with groups such as Wanna One and BTS. In 2023, he represented Studio Gl1de and participated in Mnet’s survival show Boys Planet, where he placed second. As a result, he was confirmed as a member of the new boy group ZEROBASEONE and was elected as the group’s leader in May 2023. ZEROBASEONE made their debut in July 2023.
In September 2023, Han-bin was announced as the new host of Mnet’s music show M Countdown, initially teaming with (G)I-dle’s Miyeon, and then joined by Boynextdoor’s Myung Jaehyun and Riize’s Sohee. In 2024 he was selected as the new narrator for the second season of the reality show I-Land.
Results and awards
As a member of ZEROBASEONE, Han-bin has helped the group receive numerous prestigious awards, including Best New and Debut Artist of the Year at the 2023 MAMA Awards, as well as Best New Artist (Overseas) at the 2023 Asian Pop Music Press.
Personal life
Han-bin comes from a supportive family. He has a younger sister and the family owns two Pomeranian dogs.
